Cults ruin familys, speaking from experience. I left the cult I was part of and no one in the group knows why, I just disappeared. I want to come and speak about it but Im afraid of the retaliation I might get. You guys have no idea how generations are born into cults, not giving the next offspring to choose if they want to be in or not. Currently the leader of the cult is in jail, and has been lying to members saying that hes in jail to test the faith of the members and if people dont believe him while hes in jail then they werent meant to be saved. It even got to the toxic point that the members themselves have said that the world is being punished because hes in jail. The outcome you may ask? COVID. Theyre literally saying that god is punishing the world with covid because there leader is in jail. Beware of who you talk to when they talk about religion. You may never know what youll get into.

I just saw the Director"s Cut and it was INCREDIBLE! It disturbed and delighted in equal measure. The emotional payoff was darker and more deeply felt than the original theatrical release. I felt that the beginning of the film was definitely tied to the entire film. From the references to her parents arguing over materialistic possessions representing our capitalistic dog-eat-dog society, to how the way American society treats our elderly (which might have something to do with why the sister took the parents along with her) Florence Pugh"s character had to bear all of those things without a family, as her boyfriend is no family. All I"m saying is the first twenty minutes are imperative to the film"s emotional payoff. NO ONE can understand her grief. But these people can share her grief. I strongly recommend seeing the Director"s Cut, because it illuminates the aspects of the film I think could be easily overlooked upon initial viewing. This, sir, is an A plus film. Skoal.

I think the whole story was highly compelling, and from my point of view, it"s a masterpiece, the story never felt like a drag, everything makes sense when u put urself into Dani"s perspective, and everything wins a deep meaning. 0:27 I guess it is. But hearing Chris talk about how irrelevant the opening trauma is to the rest of the story. something about hearing his take really puts the ending into perspective AND IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW. D Leaving me happy with its ending. Guys, this movie rocks. Its no (original) Wicker Man, but its going down as a treasure in my heart for the remainder of my days \m.

Great synopsis! Love the information, but I wish it wasn"t yelled at me for 23 minutes lol. Midsommar ost. Yeah hes definitely done a lot of mushrooms. There was at a point 2 hours into the movie where I just thought on please no more singing, no more... Thanks. Midsommar director"s cut. The scene where Christian was tripping and the guy clapped in his face is super disturbing to me for some reason. Midsommar spoilers. To say that I had huge expectations for this one would be a simply understatement. A surreal indie-horror by renown director and with interesting premise? Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Well, not exactly.
First, this is one hell of a slow movie. And I mean sluggishly so. Sometimes, that kind of approach does work, sometimes it just doesn"t. Midsommar is hiding its pretentiousness behind its deliberate pace, it tries desperately to present itself as a slow-burn clever movie, but the problem is - it simply isn"t! Yes, it is better than abysmal Wicker Man (Nic Cage version, of course) but only marginally so. You see, the story, the setting, strangely similar to that pile of crap, but intelligently presented as a "thinking man"s horror. Nah, fellows, you can"t fool me! I grew up watching true legends of the genre, Carpenter, Cronnenberg, Craven, Hooper, Romero, I know a thing or two about edgy and thought-provoking horror film, right?
The story is extremely predictable, the pace isn"t deliberate, it is decidedly slow to the point of suicide and the ending... I mean, c" was telegraphed some two hours and 15 minutes before, right after the initial 15 minutes of this long, pretentious and above all boring movie.
I"m giving it (generous) two stars because 1) it is very difficult to make a movie these days, especially if you"re not a studio player; and 2) the actors are very sincere in their performances, they try really hard and it deserves respect.
Anyways, Midsommar is a huge disappointment and I would really like to have my two and a half hours back after this trainwreck.

Honestly the part that scarred me the most was when Dani called Christian and started crying No No NO NOOOO. like that. It literally made my heart stop. My parents almost got pulled into a cult like last year, we just joke about it but reality is it couldve been really scary. they were just looking for a new church and only went to one session? idk i forget what church things are called lol but by the end of it they were rlly freaked out cuz although they were soso nice something just seemed really off. lucky nothing happened to them.

Did anyone notice how when they were sitting at the table eating the pies, christian was the only one with a slightly pinkish drink supposedly because of Maya"s period blood. Midsommar cinemasins. I was going to watch this movie because of all of the good reviews. I watched the trailer first and it just looked boring and unoriginal. Looks like my instincts were correct. If I want to watch a horror about vacationing in Sweden, Ill just watch The Ritual again. Midsommar movie. Just finished it, and honestly this movie put me through an emotion i just can not explain. This film genius insofar as cinematography and tension, really enjoyed it. For Once In My Life I disagree with the CD. This was a decent "horror" film which was an unexpected delight. The horror tropes are all there, but it was disturbing in all the right places. The end was totally predictable, but it was such an unusual location that it made it beguiling. Midsommar trailer cz.

The expert must be scared to even mention Scientology and to be sued and followed by them. But he describes it so everyone with basic knowledge knows he talks about Scientology. Great job. Elderly Nudity as scare started at It Follows. What about The Shining. These movies aren"t always supposed to have jump scares and constant killing. A24 Movies are special. They are for people who see the bigger picture and understand what makes a movie great. Its like a gritty drama hybrid that makes you cringe. And that"s what makes their movies special. they"re mysterious and sensitive.
